Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has called on the Ebira community in Ondo State to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the November 16 governorship election to sustained the Laudable achievements
According to a statement by Ismaila Isah, Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, dated November 2, 2024, Governor Ododo, who serves as Deputy Chairman of the election management and strategy committee of the Ondo State Governorship Election Campaign Council, made this call while speaking to a massive crowd at the APC rally in Owo town on Saturday.
The Governor regarded Ondo state as a haven for Ebiras and appealed to the community to mirror the achievement showcased during the 2020 Governorship election, which resulted in the APC’s resounding triumph in the state.
“I have come to thank you for the support you gave the APC in the last governorship election in Ondo state.
“I am aware that we have a large population of our people in Owo, Ifo and Ose local government areas, as well as other parts of Ondo state and I want you to take our message to all of them.
“Come November 16, 2024, I urge you to vote for the APC and Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the Governor of Ondo State” Governor Ododo stated.
He assured the people of Ondo State that the APC and its candidate, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, will deliver the desired dividends of democracy, including improved physical infrastructure, education, healthcare, water and sanitation, agricultural development, and security of lives and property across the state’s communities.
While applauding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s efforts to revitalize the Ajaokuta steel complex, a project vital to Kogi state, Governor Ododo reiterated the APC administration’s dedication to honoring the people’s confidence in the party at all levels of governance.
He described Governor Aiyedatiwa as a seasoned expert who can be relied upon to expand upon the foundation of progress and development established by Ondo state under the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, who passed away in December 2023.
“We know Governor Aiyedatiwa, he has been tested and can be trusted. We want continuity and consolidation and he has started very well.
“I want to let you know that the Ebira, Igala and Okun communities in Ondo state are hundred percent behind you. They will all come out en masse on November 16 to vote for you”, Governor Ododo assured.
While responding, Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted the crucial importance of promoting unity and peaceful coexistence amongst various ethnic groups in Ondo state.
He vowed to increase opportunities for non-native communities in the state, contingent upon his election on November 16.
Abdullahi Bello, Kogi state APC chairman, part of Governor Ododo’s entourage, commended the unity and cooperation between Kogi and Ondo state residents, guaranteeing this understanding will yield significant votes for the APC and Governor Aiyedatiwa in November’s governorship election.
His Royal Highness, Adayi Isa Ahmed, the Ohinoyi of Ebira in Owo, said he was excited to receive Governor Ododo during a courtesy call, promising that the Ebira community in Owo will support APC’s Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the upcoming governorship election.
He praised Governor Aiyedatiwa for appointing five Ebira community members to authoritative positions, promising that the community would show appreciation by mobilizing more votes than in the last state governorship election.
