The Alumni Association of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, has conferred the distinguished Public Service Award upon its Rector, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, in recognition of his outstanding achievements and lasting influence.
A press release from Uredo Omale, Director of Public Relations and Protocol at Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, announced that Professor Usman received the award during the Association’s inaugural annual general meeting and award dinner on November 8, 2024, at Edge Drive Hotels and Suites in Lokoja.
Among the other award recipients were Alhaji (Dr) Abdullahi Bello (Dollar), APC Chairman, Kogi State Chapter, Rt. Honorable Aliyu Usman Yusuf, Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, and Dr. Hajiya Habibat Oyiza Tijani Onumoko, Accountant General, Kogi State.
Mr. Alexander Ocholi, national President of the Association, announced that the distinguished awards recognized the recipients’ outstanding public service and humanitarian contributions.
Mr. Ocholi showcased the Association’s impressive achievements during his tenure, expressing gratitude to his executive members and board of trustees for their unrelenting commitment.
He also acknowledged Professor Usman’s leadership at the Polytechnic, which laid a solid foundation for the Alumni Association.
The President of the Polytechnic Alumni Association stressed the importance of collaborative initiatives to enhance membership and foster institutional development.
Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, the Rector of the Polytechnic, expressed gratitude to the Alumni Association for their collaboration and support.
He reiterated Management’s commitment to making the Alumni body more vibrant and admirable.
Professor Usman emphasized the importance of public service and encouraged others to follow in his footsteps to be remembered after their service years or death.
The Rector encouraged association members and socially conscious individuals to endeavour to inspire subsequent generations to make meaningful contributions to public service and the greater good.
Alhaji (Dr.) Abdullahi Bello, Chairman of the APC in Kogi State and honorary doctorate recipient from Delaware University, expressed sincere appreciation for the recognition and promised to redouble his efforts for the Association and his alma mater’s progress.
