Labour party condemns rising insecurity in Abia, seeks action

Ceekay Igara, National Vice Chairman, Southeast of the Labour Party, has expressed concern about the rising insecurity in Abia state.
He condemned in it’s entirety the recent killing of security personnel by unknown gunmen in Ohafia and Ubakala in Umuahia south local government areas of the state and called for collaborative efforts at bringing an end to the incidences arising its ugly head in the state.
Igara in a statement made available to newsmen at the weekend, enjoined the police not to go on reprisals as the perpetrators may be from outside the state
He asked the police authority to seek better and more intelligence led approach to nipping the insecurity in the bud.
While condoling with the commissioner of Police Abia state, Danladi Isah, and the Nigerian Police Abia state command on the killing of their officers by unknown gunmen in some parts of the state, Igara prayed God to grant the souls of the dead eternal rest while also praying for quick recovery of those injured.

His words: “I am saddened by the insecurity situation in our dear state Abia especially the killing of security personnel across the state. This is not who we are and by all means we should come together to find a lasting solution to this menace raising its ugly head in our state. ”
“I call on the police not to embark on any reprisals as the attackers may not be indigenes of our dear state as we respect the sanctity of live. I enjoin the police to seek for more intelligence led approaches to bringing an end to these insecurity situations”.
