Activist blasts Dino: Yahaya Bello is out of your league (Video)

A Human Rights Researcher and Anti-corruption Advocate, Comrade Sylvanus Okpe, has lambasted Dino Melaye, the 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi State, for belittling the hardships faced by Yahaya Bello, a former governor of the state.
Okpe, who expressed annoyance over Melaye’s constant display of alleged unexplained wealth on social media, amid widespread poverty, advised him to conceal his face whenever Nigerians are talking about integrity issues.
In a viral video clip spanning two minutes and 50 seconds, the rights activist remarked that Melaye should not liken himself to the former governor, observing that individuals of his ilk were deceiving youths with their persistent, unwarranted exhibition of unexplained wealth on social media.
“Dino mocks poor Nigerian youths, flaunts wealth. He doesn’t help anybody but all the kinds of flashy cars in Nigeria, Dino has. He is the one that has made Nigerian youths to believe that politicians are thieves,” he said.
He recalled how the former legislator purportedly leaped from a police van when he was arrested a few years ago and was taken on a stretcher for a court proceeding to evade trial.
He questioned the moral authority of the former legislator to ridicule ex-Governor Bello, who he claimed had voluntarily submitted himself to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and even provided his crowd of supporters and loved ones with strength in the courtroom.
Okpe deemed Dino’s ridicule of Bello unpalatable and unjustified, emphasizing that the former lawmaker was unfit to comment on matters of public interest, given his alleged association with convicted felons.
“If everybody is talking, Dino Melaye? Dino Melaye does not belong in the same political class as Yahaya Bello. Dino Melaye lacks the political stature to engage in discussions alongside Yahaya Bello. During his tenure in the Senate and House of Representatives, what were his notable achievements? Instead, he made unsavory comments about impregnating a fellow senator. He consistently disparages women at every opportunity,” the Anti-corruption crusader added.
