Prof. Ekele, Chief Medical Director of University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Wins Leadership Award

The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH) has praised Professor Bisala Ahmed Ekele, the Chief Medical Director, for significantly transforming the institution over the past seven years.
They regard him as an invaluable asset to the hospital, highlighting his leadership and contributions to improving healthcare services there.
On December 17, 2024, Professor Bisala Ahmed Ekele received a ‘merit award’ from an association in recognition of his long-standing support and contributions.
This acknowledgment highlights his significant role and commitment to the organization over the years, reflecting appreciation for his efforts in advancing their goals and initiatives
They lauded the efforts at repositioning the hospital in the area of infrastructure, medical personnel and experts, medical equipments, drugs and other medicaments that had assisted in no small measure to the hospital.
While acknowledging the investiture as a result of hard work, diligence, dedication to duty, they also expressed gratitude to the CMD for attracting both public and private entities into supporting the growth of the hospital in all areas.
Responding, The Chief Medical Director, Professor Bisala Ahmed Ekele said he was overwhelmed by the honor done him by the association and dedicated the award to the staffers of the hospital.
He thanked the association for the singular recognition, stating that hard work, diligence and dedication to duty will not go unrewarded both in the public and private sector.
While promising to sustain the tempo of development of the tertiary health institution both in and out of the hospital, he advised the association to sustain their cooperation to the management of the hospital.
