177 Guards Battalion Keffi holds 2024 West African Social Activities ceremony on 27th December
The 177 Guards Battalion, located at Shittu Alao Barracks in Keffi, is preparing to host the 2024 West African Social Activities (WASA). This annual event celebrates military traditions and community engagement.
In an interview with Globaltimenews, Major M.A Sani, head of the organizing committee, revealed that the event is set to occur on 27th December, 2024, at 177 Guards Battalion Headquarters, with a scheduled start time of one in the afternoon.
According to him, this year’s West African social Activities WASA will have in attendance, the Governor of Nasarawa state, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, as special guest, Dr. Shehu Chindo Yamusa the third, the emir of Keffi, while the commanding officer of the 177 guards battalion, Colonel AB Inuwa will be the host, among other dignitaries, calling on the people to be present as different tribes will showcase their cultural dance.
Major Sani said, the west African Social Activities ( Wasa) is a long time inherited Nigerian Army tradition conducted annually to mark and celebrate the unit end of the year operational and training activities, and It is also serve as a means of uniting officers, soldiers and their families to appreciate the diversified cultural heritage of the nation in a bid to promote unity among troops.
