Bureau DG, Oghenesivbe bags Ciism, National Youth Council Awards
…To Speak at NIPR Spokespersons Conference next year
Communication Strategist and Director General of the Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr Wilfred Latimore Oghenesivbe, is ending 2024 on a high note.
He’s just received two prestigious awards recognizing his professional excellence and dedication to duty.
The Delta State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) presented him with the Best Performing Communication Strategist Award. This honour acknowledges his valuable contributions to governance in Delta State through result oriented strategic communication models.
Additionally, the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management (CIISM) bestowed upon him Exceptional Leadership Award, ELA. This award celebrates his exceptional professional skills and expertise as a communication strategist and media manager.
He’s also set to receive a Master’s Degree certificate in Mass Communication, specializing in Public Relations and Advertising (PRAD), at the January 13, 2025 convocation ceremony of the University of Lagos, making it the fourth degree from the same University.
Oghenesivbe’s master degree dissertation, “Assessing the Public Relations Credentials and Performance of Presidential Spokespersons in Nigeria’s Fourth Republic,” was highly commended by the National Vice President of NIPR, Prof Emmanuel Dandaura, and will be published in the official website of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
He’ll also present his research at the upcoming NIPR Spokespersons Conference in Abuja, a gathering of top class communication and Public Relations experts from all walks of life, including the Honourable Minister of Information, Alhaji Mohammed Idris and the National President of NIPR, Dr. Ike Neliaku.
Delta State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comrade Kenneth l Okorie, while presenting the Award to Oghenesivbe at the just concluded 5th edition of Delta State Communication Workshop in Asaba, said the council has been profiling the activities and performance of the Bureau Chief from the immediate past administration and had to appreciate his contributions to the development of Delta.
In the same vein, the Registrar of the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management, Dr Adelanke Oyintoke, while presenting the Life Time Achievements Award to Oghenesivbe, at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Asokoro in Abuja, described him as a top class communication strategist and effective media manager who has been consistent in upscaling the standard of the profession over the years.
He noted that the Delta State Communication Workshop, an annual capacity building programme is an initiative of Dr Oghenesivbe, saying that the workshop is worthy of emulation by other states in Nigeria, while commending Oghenesivbe for his exceptional professional skills, resilience and hard work spanning over two decades a d counting.
Dr. Oghenesivbe expressed gratitude to God for his accomplishments and recognized the significance of these awards.
He thanked his Boss, the governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, for giving him the platform to serve the state and humanity in general, adding that the MORE Agenda is already yielding monumental results for the state, and for all Deltans in terms of socioeconomic and infrastructural development.
He assured that governor Oborevwori’s good governance strides shall be sustained throughout the eight years life span of this administration, while urging citizens and residents in the state, irrespective of political and religious affiliation to continue to support the governor, and align with his genuine intentions to Advance Delta beyond 2027.
Dr. Oghenesivbe possesses an impressive array of academic credentials, including a Professional Doctorate Degree in Information and Media Management Strategy, a Master’s Degree in Public and International Affairs, a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication, a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication, a Diploma in Public Administration, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science, an LL.B Law Degree, a Barrister at Law Postgraduate Certificate, a Call to Bar Certificate from the Body of Benchers in Nigeria, and a Doctorate Degree in Public Leadership from DELSU Business School (in-view), among others.
