Blessing Ekele, ex-vice chair, greets Kogi stakeholders and elders for 2025 new year
In the spirit of the new year, Mrs Blessing Aisha Ekele, the immediate ex-vice chairman of Olamabaro local government in Kogi State, congratulates stakeholders for their flexibility and consistency, which has laid a sound foundation for a better Kogi tomorrow.
In her new year message, Hon. Ekele made this disclosure on Friday in Lokoja, to the people of the state via a press release to newsmen.
She commended the efforts of past and present leaders in the state, noting that their commitment to inclusiveness, new direction agenda, and consistent leadership has promoted unity and continuity, ultimately leading to effective service delivery in governance.
“Without mincing words , the smooth transition of Ex- governor Yahaya Bello ‘s led administration to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo ‘s propelled government is historic and worthy of admiration.
“Some of the hitherto teething challenges are being addressed smoothly without ember of hatred, ethnicity and political bias which has douse the fire of criticisms and tension in all sphere of humanity in the society of kogi .
“Barely a year in office , governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and his deputy, Joel Oyibo Salihu, with their magic wards have fixed several weak links which were the burning issues that tend to divide us and cause strive among the ethnic divide and political class.
“If anything , the civil servants in the state are wearing smile on their face for prompt payment of their salary and abandonment of percentage salary payment”, she said
The Magajia 1 of Uke kingdom in Nassarawa state further stated that the narrative of the present administration derives its strength from the solid foundation laid by the immediate past government of the state under the leadership of Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
She noted that the quality of leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by Alhaji Abdullahi Bello and his team, must have contributed to the smooth administration of the government, with a strong focus on implementing the party’s manifestos, which are rooted in welfarism.
“I hereby congratulate you all for piloting the affairs of the state with decorum in tandem with the modern global narratives of inclusiveness in act of governance,with great impact .
Hon. Ekele commended the inclusive approach of the current administration towards women, urging Governor Ododo to continue promoting gender diversity by incorporating more women and youth into his administration, thereby contributing to the state’s growth and development.
She praised the monarch of her community, Ojibo Igah, His Royal Highness (HRH), Chief Onuche Shuibu, and other traditional and political leaders, including the people of the Ankpa, Olamabaro, and Omala Federal Constituency, for their consistent efforts to carry her community along in the scheme of things.
Against this backdrop, she praised Ata Igala, His Royal Majesty (HRM), Alaji Mathew Oguche Akpa 11, for maintaining peace and tranquility in his domain since assuming the throne of his ancestors in the Igala nation.
“Ga’baidu! We wish you long life . May your reign continue to be peaceful and bring prosperity and much needed transformation in the Igala nation as we enter new season”, she said .
She applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for painstakingly introducing reforms aimed at transforming the country into an economically vibrant nation where every citizen will be proud to belong.
“Change is a dynamic permanent feature in the affairs of mortals on earth. History had shown that no change evolves without pains at onset , but with time , the gains will over shadow its pains for a better society .
“It must be noted that the present pains were offshoot of the previous administrations, which the government at the centre is striving to douse its degree of impact for a better tomorrow”, she said .
“As we enter 2025, I pray for our leaders, elders and other stakeholders to be imbibed with the wisdom to solve our challenges with ease for a better society.
