Nasir El-rufai claims certain individuals are receiving payment for defending Tinubu’s government

Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai has stated that he would continue to criticize the All Progressives Congress, APC, even if he were part of President Bola Tinubu’s government, noting that the party has abandoned its core values.

“I no longer recognize the APC. There are no caucus or NEC meetings, and it’s either a one-man show or a zero-man show.”

Responding to the development, presidential aide Daniel Bwala questioned whether El-Rufai would have taken the same stance if he were in the cabinet.

El-Rufai responded by stating that he had never sought a role in Tinubu’s administration and would have voiced his concerns in any case.

El-Rufai made the assertion in response to Daniel Bwala, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy and Communication, who denounced his recent remarks about the APC.

Bwala had questioned whether El-Rufai would have expressed the same views if he had been part of the government. El-Rufai responded by stating that he had informed Tinubu from the outset that he was not interested in a ministerial role.

He also alleged that some government supporters received payments to rationalize its actions, regardless of how “indefensible.”

El-Rufai, whose ministerial nomination was not confirmed by the Senate, maintained that his criticism was based on principles, rather than personal gain.
