DeeOne defends Nedu amid podcast controversy, says ‘he’s innocent, don’t let him die

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Aderombi Adedayo Martin, known as Deeone, has defended media personality Chinedu Emmanuel (Nedu Wazobia) after his exit from The Honest Bunch Podcast.
This follows a controversy involving social commentator Martins Vincent Otse (VeryDarkMan), who shifted focus from Deeone’s allegations about him to accusing Nedu of unethical practices.
Nedu stepped down citing personal toll and the need to protect his family and the show’s integrity.
Deeone urged influential Nigerians to support Nedu, calling VDM’s actions manipulative
Nedu Wazobia announced his departure from The Honest Bunch Podcast on Friday through Instagram, citing the need to protect his peace of mind, family, and the podcast’s integrity.
However, VDM later claimed that Nedu was sacked rather than resigning voluntarily.
The podcast’s management clarified that Nedu stepped down temporarily by mutual agreement to address ongoing issues.
His exit follows controversy surrounding a recent episode featuring comedian and reality TV star, Deeone, who alleged that social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM) was attracted to men.
In response, VDM made allegations that Nedu had been consistently requesting his presence on the podcast since 2024, with the purported offer of buying him a car as an inducement. He also claimed that Nedu had contacted him multiple times, implying that this was the reason for the accusations made against him by Deeone.
In light of the development, DeeOne released a video on his Instagram page via comediandeeone on Friday, requesting that prominent Nigerians, including former presidential candidates Peter Obi and Omoyele Sowore, as well as socialite Cubana Chief Priest, assist Nedu.
He declared that Nedu was innocent and facing a tough situation, and charged VDM with manipulating the truth.
“Nigerians, Nedu is going through a lot. He did not tell me to post anything; that man is innocent. I swear with everything in this life that Nedu did not tell me to post anything. Please, all good, well-meaning Nigerians, please! This is not content, this is real stuff. Peter Obi, Sowore, Obi Cubana, Cubana Chiefpriest, E Money, KCEE, Davido, Don Jazzy, all of you should come out. VDM lied, he lied!”
