Kogi CP lectures Senior Police Officers on discipline, professionalism, Human Rights
Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Miller Danyaeaye has reiterated the Inspector General of Police mandate to all Officers to carry out enforcement operations with integrity and high level of professionalism .
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya in a press release on Thursday stated that CP Dantawaye gave the order on Thursday at the state Police command headquarters in Lokoja while addressing members of the Command’s management team, Commissioned and non Commissioned Officers on the Third party insurance enforcement, urged them not to exploit their duties and the exercise as a money-making venture .
Dantawaye stressed that their primary objective is to protect public interest, and ensure total compliance with traffic Laws, and to educate road users on their rights and responsibilities regarding vehicles insurance Policy.
The Command also brought in insurance experts to deliver lecture, among whom was the State Coordinator, Retail Insured Family (an Insurance company), Mr Addi Onimisi Abdulfatai who commended the Inspector General of Police for his efforts to ensure strict adherence to the provision of Third-Party Insurance Policy.
The session aimed to equip Officers with the necessary knowledge to guide motorists accurately and to avoid conflicts during enforcement operations.
The CP who used the occasion to further address concerns raised by the public about harassment during Third-Party insurance enforcement. sternly warned officers against unprofessional conduct and stressed that any reported abuse would attract severe disciplina.
The conference concluded with a renewed commitment from all Officers to prioritize human rights protection, ensure proper welfare for their subordinates, and carry out their duties professionally with honesty and the fear of God.
With the IGP message fully delivered and assimilated, the CP therefore assured Kogites that, the Command remains committed to fostering a safe, just, and law-abiding society through ethical law enforcement practices.
