Comrade Abdurazaq Abdulkadir, Aide to Kogi State Governor and Yagba East Coordinator of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), congratulates Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and his deputy Elder Salifu Oyibo on achieving one year in office and praises their grassroots development initiatives.
Hon. Comrade Abdurazaq Abdulkadir, Local Government Special Assistant to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and current Coordinator, National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Yagba East Local Government Council of Kogi State, strongly condemned the attempted security breach by unidentified gunmen, whose mayhem was thwarted by local vigilante and hunter personnel

Abdulkadir said the combined local security architecture have demonstrated commendable gallantry and bravery.
An investigation conducted by our correspondent showed that unknown gunmen invaded the Yagba East Headquarters in the daytime, targeting a well-known hospitality facility as the base for their assault. Nonetheless, the superior security engagement ultimately forced the gunmen to retreat, foiling their intended mission.
The NYCN helmsman applauded the proactive initiative of HRM Oba Moses Etombi, the Paramount Ruler of the town, and other traditional rulers in the area for their synergistic partnership with Hon. Dare Joshua, the Executive Chairman of the LGA, in enhancing the security network of the area, which has produced tangible outcomes.
Acknowledging that since he assumed office, initially serving as Caretaker Chairman, he has maintained a steadfast focus on security, and has reliably met this commitment. Through his impartial and equitable treatment of both residents and visitors, he has established the trust and confidence of the citizenry.
“Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s decision to increase the remuneration of vigilante and constabulary police personnel is praiseworthy, as it serves as a moral booster, leading to enhanced commitment to service, thus sustaining the legacy of H.E Alh. Yahaya Bello (CON), who established a solid foundation in multiple areas, including security. There was a call for the Governor to extend this gesture to local hunters, whose contributions are immense. It is a well-established fact that motivated security personnel consistently deliver better performances.”
“Advocate for constitutional role for traditional and religious leaders to include security complimentary of local government areas.”
“With regards to national security, he emphasized the need for heads of security and defense establishments to work in tandem, share intelligent information, and prioritize national interest above other interests at all times. He commented that the public exchange of volatile words among unit heads is counterproductive. He also pointed out that the lack of cooperation and collaboration limited the previous administration’s ability to reap the full rewards of its significant investment in security.”
He therefore added his voice to a call issued by notable political and opinion leaders of the area, calling for security submissions, especially from the community level upwards to the higher structures of society.
Youth in the area are advised to remain vigilant of strange faces and suspicious moves, and to report them promptly to the relevant authorities.
In another development, the Yagba NYCN Coordinator has expressed condolences to the families of the victims and the management of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) over the tragic truck/vehicle accident that resulted in the loss of many students’ lives.

The Coordinator is urging the Federal Government to establish necessary infrastructure to prevent this recurring tragedy. And advised road safety and traffic control personnel to intensify their efforts.
Pray for God protection of all.
