Rep Ari Pays ₦45 Million WAEC Fees for Students

Hon. Abdulmumin Mohammed Ari, representing Nasarawa-Toto federal constituency, has announced the disbursement of forty-five million (45000,000) naira for the payment of West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) fees for secondary school students across Nasarawa western senatorial district.

The disbursement ceremony of the scholarship scheme took place on Saturday, 28-02-2025, at Keffi square, old Market, with stakeholders from the All Progressives Congress APC, representing the five local government areas of the senatorial zone, in attendance.

Ari, disclosed that, the scholarship scheme is one of his policy direction and priority since he won the house of representatives position.

According to Ari, millions of Naira have been spent through the payment of WAEC for students particularly those at his constituency of Nasarawa -Toto, and promised to continue in that direction to standize the education system in Nasarawa state.

He said, the purpose of extending the scholarship to students outside his constitue, is because his colleague, Gaza Jonathan represent different political party that is SDP, automatical, he has become the leader of the party in the whole Nasarawa West, calling for support to enable him succeed.

Dr. Muhammad Damagani, the Chairman of Keffi local government area, who performed the unveiling of the 45 million naira check for the payment of WAEC, praised the federal law maker Abdulmumin Ari, for his foresight towards improving the system of education across the zone, and pledged total support to enable him do more.

While giving the breakdown of the scholarship scheme, the Chairman Hon. Abdulmumin Ari WAEC committee, Awaje Baba Mohammed, said in 2022, 20217 candidates were paid 14000 Naira each as WAEC registration, which amounting to 3,13700, while in 2022, one thousand eight hundred and six candidates benefited with 18000 naira which caused 1, 954800,

He said since, 2021, the lawmaker, has continued paying WAEC registration for candidates cut across political patties, religion and tribes, and assured that more are still coming to better the lots of his constituents.
