On the occasion of Ramadan Fasting, Dr. Mary Alile congratulates muslims globally, saying “As the crescent moon heralds the beginning of Ramadan, I extend my warmest greetings and best wishes to the Muslim Ummah across Nigeria and beyond. This sacred month is a time of profound self-discipline, deep reflection, and devotion—a period where we seek spiritual purification through fasting, prayer, and acts of kindness. May this holy month bring us closer to Allah, foster unity, and guide us towards a path of peace and righteousness. Ramadan Mubarak!”
Ramadan is a period of abstaining from food and drink, but it also encompasses a season of sacrifice, charity, patience, and selflessness. It underscores the value of compassion, love, and unity, which are much needed in our country today. As we observe the fast and engage in prayer, let us remember the less fortunate, the sick, and those facing hardships, extending a hand of generosity and goodwill wherever possible.
As the National Woman Leader of the All Progressives Congress, I urge our women, mothers, and daughters to leverage this opportunity to fortify their families and communities through altruistic acts and spiritual enrichment. Women constitute the backbone of society, and their role in cultivating unity, love, and virtuous values during Ramadan is indispensable.
