Over 20,000 vulnerable and poor people in Nasarawa State are set to benefit from the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer program appears to be an underestimation. According to recent reports, at least 138,015 vulnerable households in Nasarawa State are targeted to benefit from this program.
This program is part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at alleviating poverty and improving the livelihoods of poor and vulnerable Nigerians.
The program has been expanded significantly from previous figures, reflecting a broader reach and impact in the state
Mrs. Rhoda Agbawu, the state program manager, disclosed this during the flagged off ceremony held at Kokona Local government secretariat in Garaku, on Wednesday.
According to Mrs. Rhoda Agbawu, the program manager, Nasarawa state renewed hope conditional cash transfer, said the initiative aims to cushion economic shocks for poor and vulnerable Nigerian households
According to her, the program, initially launched by former President Muhammadu Buhari to reduce poverty, was rebranded under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to align with his policy direction.
The renewed program focuses on improving the lives of vulnerable and poor individuals, particularly in light of the fuel subsidy removal.
