PDP Ward 6 Kokori Harvested 100 APC decampees
…As Emeyese, Omeru, Oghenesivbe, Omovie, others vow to crunch APC in 2027
No fewer than one hundred members of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Kokori Ward Six, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, citing the unprecedented socioeconomic and infrastructure development achievements of the State governor, Dr (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori as the major reason for their decision.
The defectors led by Mr. Stephen Imodje, were received by PDP Ward Six Leader, Rt Hon Sunny Akpodiogaga Emeyese, alongside the Ward Chairman, Chief Felix Oniakuko, at a general meeting of the Ward in Kokori, Agbon Kingdom.
The meeting was meant for leaders and members to review recent political developments in the Ward, sensitize members about the numerous ongoing and completed projects by governor Oborevwori in the area including; several roads that have been constructed or reconstructed, such as Otobrise Street, Okpe Street, Agbonmiyeri Street, and several others.
Receiving the APC decampees, Rt Hon Emeyese assured them that in PDP there are no old and new members, noting that their decision to dump the broom and come under the protective umbrella of the PDP came at a time the party was making waves despite the defection of some persons who betrayed PDP after using the party ladder to climb to enviable positions.
Rt. Hon. Emeyese revealed that the party leadership raided N27million to celebrate Christmas for members in the ward, and also distributed bags of rice and cash to each unit in Kokori Ward 06, as a show of support, assuring that 20 party faithfuls will soon be given N100,000 each for empowerment in respect of their stewardship to the party.
The former federal lawmaker urged party members to remain steadfast in their commitment to the MORE Agenda of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Dr. Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori.
Responding on behalf of the decampees, Mr Stephen Imodje cited the good governance strides of governor Oborevwori as their reason for the defection, pointing out that the governor has turned all parts of Delta State into construction site, empowering youths and women entrepreneurs via D-CARES programme, as well as creating jobs and wealth through the State Bureau of Job and Wealth Creation wherein thousands of youths and women benefited.
Mr Imodje decried the acute disunity and lack of visionary leadership in APC Delta, saying that the APC party is fast degenerating in Delta State, despite the defection of Hon Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu and Senator Ned Nwoko to the party.
He noted that two national Assembly members defection from PDP is already creating more problems for the APC than good, urging all eligible voters in Ward Six kokori and by extension Delta State, to continue to support governor Oborevwori and PDP as we navigate into another electioneering era in 2027.
Some of the notable politicians who decamped from APC to PDP included; Mr. Stephen Imodje, Mr. Atomini Onokurhefe, Madam Margaret Adam (popularly known as “Okada Woman”), Pastor Onotamu Stephen, Michael John, Adamuguono Obruche, and Mr. Oghenro Ogbemi, their supporters, political associates and several others too numerous to mention here.
The leaders and members of PDP Ward 6 pass a vote of confidence on the state party leader and governor, Dr (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori.
Ward Six PDP College of Leaders led by Rt Hon Sunny Akpodiogaga Emeyese assured that PDP shall deliver the Ward to governor Oborevwori in 2027, and that Rt Hon Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu will not return to the National Assembly as it is now the turn of Ethiope East LGA to produce the next member of the House of Representatives as agreed in 2023, at the Country Home of Chief James Onanefe Ibori, prior to the general elections.

Party leaders and dignitaries present at the meeting included; Rt. Hon. Sunny Akpodiogaga Emeyese, Esq. (Ward 06 Leader), Chief James Omeru, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq, Chief Sunday Omovie, Esq., Chief Abraham Ojighoro (SSA to the Governor), Chief David Odeje, Hon.
