Nasarawa Assembly Wraps Up Ramadan Tafsir, Cleric Calls for reflection
…..As Speaker Jatau urges unity, tolerance and peaceful coexistence among different religious adherents
A few days shy of the end of the month-long religious exercise, this year’s Ramadan Tafsir for the Nasarawa State House of Assembly has come to a close.
The Ramadan Tafsir was brought to an end today Wednesday as believers were encouraged on the act of righteousness and warned against sins that will invoke the wrath of God.
Speaking at the event, the Speaker of the House Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau has called on muslims believers to reflect on the lessons of Ramadan to improve on the existing peace, unity and love among different religion followers in the State.
The Speaker stated this today during the closing of Ramadan Tafsir at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly complex mosque, Lafia.
He described the month of Ramadan as special in the Islamic calendar hence the need for Muslims and others to enhance and sustain the prayers and other good deeds of the month even after the Ramadan exercise.
Speaker Jatau was represented at the closing of the Tafsir by the Deputy Director Legislative Matters, Yusuf Umar Kassim enjoined muslims and other religions believers to recognize the importance of unity, love and peaceful coexistence and apply it in their day to day affairs.
” This year muslim ramadan fasting coincided with the christians fasting of lent, which has shown the special nature of the period and other spiritual activities, I want to urge us all to reflect on the lessons learned in our daily dealings with one another”
” The period provide for coming closer to God, assisting the less privilege and prayers for leaders and the nation.
” Lessons learnt should not be forgotten, it should be sustain beyond the spiritual month.
While reading from the Holy Qur’an the Islamic Claric Muhammad Muhammad Sarki, the Chief Imam of Malam Sarki juma’a mosque, laying super, Lafia called on muslim believers to show good example in all their doing.
The Chief Imam urged them to practice the religion base on the teaching of Prophet Muhammad.
On his part, Staff Officer of the Assembly, Suleiman Danladi Gyabo encouraged the believers to use the lessons of ramadan to improve on their relationship with their fellow beings and God.
The session featured special prayers for the State and the Country at large.
