Nasarawa Lawmaker Abel commends Gov Sule on education
…Hails Speaker Jatau for backing education committee
Rt. Hon. Abel Yakubu Bala, Chairman of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Education, has commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for his transformative efforts in the education sector.
Bala noted Sule’s prioritization of education as a key driver for societal development, citing initiatives such as increased budgetary allocations, teacher training programs, and infrastructure improvements across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.
Global Times Nigeria reports that under Sule’s administration, significant strides have been made, including the establishment of an Education Development Trust Fund to secure sustainable funding and reduce financial mismanagement in the sector.
Furthermore, federal government grants and partnerships with organizations like UNICEF have supported efforts to reduce out-of-school children and enhance multimedia learning environments.
Bala assured continued collaboration with the government to ensure quality education delivery and pledged to address challenges like low operational funding and resource delays.
He said that Gov. Sule has done well in the education sector in the areas of provision of structures and instructional materials among others.
Rt. Hon. Abel Yakubu Bala gave the commendation while chairing a 3 Day Workshop on Conference of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools(ANCOPSS), Nasarawa State Chapter in Lafia.
Bala, who is the Chairman of the Conference said that Gov. Sule has made adequate 2025 budgetary provision for the education sector in the state.
” I want to thank His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule for placing premium on the education sector.
“As His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule is aware that education is the way that drive the nation to its greatness.
” Therefore, he deliberately chopped up this year’s budget to take care for the provision of structures and instructional materials among others.
” I make bold to say this in my capacity as Chairman, House Committee on Education because as a committee, we have the statistics, we have visited schools and we have been synergizing with all critical stakeholders on this sector” he said.
He urged the participants to complement Gov. Sule efforts by providing quality and sound education to the pupils and students.
Hon. Abel also urged them to ensure judicious utilization of facilities and laboratories equipment provided by the government.
” I equally thank the officials of ANCOPSS for the remarkable unity among others.
” I also implore you to take advantage of this unique opportunity to learn and re-learn skills and techniques on ICT” he said.
Hon. Abel appreciate Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau, Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly for the support the committee is getting from him and called for its sustenance.

Earlier, the Chairman, All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools(ANCOPSS) Nasarawa State Chapter Aloko Williams Jacob said that during the workshop ideas and experiences are expected to be shared for the overall development of the education sector.
He appreciated the State Government and the House of Assembly for their efforts in uplifting the standard of education in the State.
The Chairman thanked dignitaries, that attended the event and prayed God to grant them journey mercies to their various distinctions.
