Maryam Ahmed, wife of AG, offers free medical services to Nasarawa citizens

Sauraniya Multi-Purpose Foundation, in collaboration with the Nasarawa Emirate Council, organized a two-day free medical outreach for the residents of Nasarawa Local Government Area.

The event took place at the General Hospital, on Wednesday.

In conformity with the policy directions of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, the Sauraniya Multi-Purpose Foundation, in collaboration with the Nasarawa Emirate Council, launched a free medical outreach for the benefit of the inhabitants of Nasarawa Local Government Area.

The objective of the medical outreach is to complement government efforts in providing healthcare services to the people, particularly at the grassroots level.

Hajiya Maryam Ibrahim, the wife of the Nasarawa state accountant general and CEO of Sauraniya Multi-Purpose Foundation, emphasized that the foundation aims to address the challenges faced by people in accessing healthcare services.

The CEO of Sauraniya Multi-Purpose Foundation Hajiya Maryam Mohammed used the opportunity to empowered 250 women with N10,000 each to start a business.

Dr. Jabir Jibril, the coordinator of the medical outreach, said the free medical outreach provided various healthcare services, including, Free surgeries, Medical consultations Dental care, Free eyeglasses, Physiotherapy, Deworming of children, Screening of blood sugar and ulcers

“So far we have attended to over 800 patients excluding eye clinic, for the eye clinic we have seen 500 so far, we have despense 300 classes. We dewormed over 500 children and adults”.

The Chairman of Nasarawa Local Government Area, Mahmood Hassan Ahmed, commended the collaborative efforts of the foundation and the emirate council.

“I appreciate the Sarauniya Multi purpose for coming up with this laudable initiative, this is a challenge to us at the local government, I call on well to do individuals to key into such projects to benefit the masses’.

Beneficiaries, such as Kezieh Joseph, expressed gratitude for the initiative and prayed for the foundation and the emirate council.

Total of 1200 patients were treated in different diseases.
