Ex-SDP members returning to APC in Kogi LG are desperate, can only cause confusion, says SDP chieftain, Isah Muhammed Omoko
…. APC should be cautious of opposition members trying to curry favor with Gov. Ododo

Hon. Isah Muhammed Omoko, former Chairmanship aspirant under the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for Kogi/Koton-Karfe local government area, has responded to rumors that SDP leaders have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Kogi LG.
Muhammed expressed gratitude that the SDP in Kogi LG is now free from such “confusionists” and dismissed claims by defectors justifying their move to APC as lies.
Hon. Omoko, a former political adviser, in an interview with our correspondent in Lokoja on Tuesday, mocked those who relinquished their SDP membership to join APC, as failures who never supported the party to win election but pursue personal agendas.
He said sooner to come the defectors would regret their inconsiderate decision as their new party will find out why the SDP pushed them out.
The Kogi LG SDP chieftain and Zone C party leader dismissed claims of zonal chairmen and leaders defecting, insisting SDP membership remains intact despite kangaroo defections.
While some SDP members including Isah Mohammed Omoko have rejected defectors’ claims and remain loyal to SDP, call on loyal party members not to be swayed by politically motivated defection.
“It is clear they are deceiving to curry favour with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo led APC administration, their actions have caused harm and they are unfit for a serious leadership position.”
He praised the dedicated loyal SDP family in Kogi LG and State at large for ridding themselves of desperate politicians, money mongers and saboteurs who never contributed to the party’s growth but sought to benefit at the expense of genuine party members.
“It’s comical that after switching from SDP, they’re now demanding appointments, fortunately, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is aware of their lack of value as he is a not a father Christmas who will abandoned his own that worked for his victory to embrace enemies .”
“I understand that they purportedly informed the Governor of their claim to be the authentic SDP in Kogi State. However, if their assertion holds true, how did they suffer a decisive defeat in their respective units during the gubernatorial elections in Kogi LG?”
“He described his former party members as opportunists looking for an opportunity to tap into resources, having come to terms with the fact that their former party, SDP, could no longer tolerate their misconduct.”
“Presently, Engr. Mohammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu, the State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, is leading Kogi LG and overseeing Zone C, while Barrister Muhammed Musa Tanko Osuku, the Executive Chairman, Kogi State Civil Service Commission, has retained leadership of Zone B, a pattern replicated in Zone A. Let us be honest with ourselves: those rejoining APC will ultimately become political slaves, as APC’s structure is already entrenched.”
Isah Muhammed Omoko stated that he never regretted joining SDP, affirming that he has left APC for good, and is now focused on moving forward.
