Senator Wadada: Skill Acquisition Key to Reducing Security Threats, to Support Unemployed Youths in Nasarawa

Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, has pledged to support unemployed youths in acquiring skills. Wadada has a track record of empowering his constituents through various initiatives, including running the Wadada Education Foundation, which provides scholarships and educational support to students across several local government areas in Nasarawa West.

Wadada has consistently emphasized his commitment to uplifting the less privileged and promoting socioeconomic advancement, signaling that youth empowerment and skills acquisition are key priorities in his legislative agenda

He made this commitment during a visit to the Entrepreneurship Department Centre of Nasarawa State University in Keffi on Monday.

Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, accompanied by his entourage, visited the Entrepreneurship Department Centre of Nasarawa State University in Keffi.

During the visit, he commended the center’s strategic role in training students with various skills, guided by the center’s director, Professor Rashidah Funke Olanrewaju, where Senator Wadada was impressed by the students’ crafted work and pledged to partner with the center to train unemployed youths in his senatorial zone.

The senator’s pledge aims to empower youths with skills, enhancing their employability and contributing to the state’s economic development which he said this initiative aligns with efforts to address unemployment and promote entrepreneurship in the entire senatorial district.

Senator Wadada emphasized that unemployed youths pose security threats and urged them to acquire skills for self-reliance, noting that government jobs are scarce and promised to support the center’s efforts to empower youths.

The director of the center, Rashidah Funke Olanrewaju, a Prof . Of Artificial Intelligence, highlighted that the center offers 40 different skills, producing various products sold at affordable prices in the market.

Before visiting the Entrepreneurship Department Centre, Senator Wadada led a delegation to pay a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman and expressed appreciation for the university’s management and disclosed that his visit was motivated by the center’s earlier request for collaboration with the National Assembly.

Responding, the Vice Chancellor, prof. Sa’adatu Liman, welcomed the senator’s visit, expressing optimism about potential positive outcomes.

Senator Wadada presented a new bus to the Entrepreneurship Department Centre, as requested, demonstrating his commitment to supporting the center’s initiatives.
