Kokona LGA Chairman, Agbawu Mek Distributes School Materials to Commemorate Children’s Day

The Chairman of Kokona Local Government Council, Mr. Agbawu Mek Agbawu, has expressed his readiness to prioritize children’s education as part of his commitment to the development of the area
He made this commitment during the 2025 Children’s Day celebration held at the Garaku Mini Stadium today.
The Chairman of Kokona Local Government Council, Mr. Agbawu Mek Agbawu, described children as future leaders and promised to provide equal opportunity for them to pursue their education and other social activities, irrespective of gender.
Mr. Agbawu called on parents, teachers, and all stakeholders to continue teaching children good moral values to make them relevant in society.
“Children are our leaders, we should remember that they don’t need only food but they need our full support in the areas that will make them feel our impact. All parents and teachers have the responsibility of taking care of children”.
The Kokona Local Government Council Chairman commended the tireless efforts of teachers in nurturing students, and urged them to redouble efforts towards imparting knowledge.
To support the education of children in Kokona Local Government Area, the Chairman distributed school materials, including bags and books, to every student who participated in the march past.
This gesture symbolizes good leadership and commitment to improving the standard of education.
Ralagma Japhet Jonah from GSS Garaku and Asheadzi Vincent, representing Government Girls Science Secondary School Garaku, expressed joy for being part of the celebration and appreciated their parents and teachers for making a great impact in their lives through sound education.
“We are happy for this day, it is our day, we commend our teachers and parents for giving us education”.
“it is the day that we know our right as children, as they always told us, we are leaders of tomorrow, we appreciate that”.
This year’s Children’s Day celebration featured march past by students from various government and private schools across Kokona Local Government Area.
