Karu LG council boss appointed Chairman of Searchlight Intelligence Community’s National Governing Council

Karu LGA Chairman, Barr. Abubakar Aliyu Madaki, has been honored as Chairman of the National Governing Council of the Searchlight Intelligence Community for his exemplary leadership and dedication to community security and national development.

The investiture ceremony, which took place at the council secretariat recently, underscored the growing importance of community-driven security and grassroots governance.

During the ceremony, Abubakar Aliyu Madaki, a retired security personnel with specialization in investigating high-profile cases, was officially inducted as Chairman of the National Governing Council of the Searchlight Intelligence Community, also known as the Watch Dog Corps.

The event, organized by the Searchlight Initiative for Community Peace Advocacy and Rural Development, brought together stakeholders from security operatives, including civil societies, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, the DSS, Correctional Service, Immigration, and members of the media.

In his keynote address, the Director-General of the organization, Prince Akinloye Ogunmodede, stated that Madaki’s induction was based on his track record of effective governance, transparency, and tireless community engagement, particularly during his service years as a security officer.

“This appointment is a strategic affirmation of leadership that not only inspires but delivers. Barrister Madaki exemplifies the vision we hold dear—one of proactive collaboration, security awareness, and inclusive development. We are confident that his stewardship will elevate the National Governing Council’s impact nationwide,” Ogunmodede remarked.

He congratulated Madaki and urged him to leverage his wealth of experience to enable the organization achieve its aims and objectives of fighting insecurity in various communities and exposing perpetrators.

Responding, Barr. Abubakar Aliyu Madaki expressed profound gratitude and reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals of peace, justice, and service, stressing that he accepted the appointment to serve with utmost diligence and commitment.
“This recognition is both a privilege and a call to greater responsibility. I dedicate it to the resilient people of Karu and to every Nigerian striving for a more secure and equitable society. I pledge to uphold the values of this noble organization and to work collectively toward building safer, stronger communities across our nation,” he said.

The event reached its climax with the presentation of a certificate and a symbolic handover of duties, officially marking Barr. Madaki’s assumption of leadership at the national level.

The gathering marked a significant milestone in the organization’s ongoing mission to enhance public safety, strengthen trust between citizens and security agencies, and promote alternative dispute resolution mechanisms throughout Nigeria.

The Searchlight Intelligence Community continues to play a vital role in bridging the gap between security agencies and the populace, advocating for social justice, and promoting grassroots peace-building initiatives.
