FCT poll: APC chairmanship candidate urges residents on INEC continuous voter registration

The chairmanship candidate for the February 21, 2026 election in Kuje area council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Hon Danjuma Samuel Shekwolo has called on residents of the council to ensure they take advantage of the upcoming continuous voter registration exercise slated for August, 2025, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), they get registered at their respective polling units.
Shekwolo, who made the call on Friday, during a ‘thank you’ tour to Yenche ward of the council, urged residents especially the eligible voters who may have misplaced their voters cards to ensure they obstacle another voters card, saying the voters is their strengths that they can use to vote during the forthcoming council poll.
He noted that some eligible voters especially in rural communities may not be aware of the INEC’s move to commence continuous voter registration exercise, which he said becomes imperative for him to intimidate them of the exercise.
“It’s obvious that some of our supporters here in Yenche community may not be aware of the upcoming continuous INEC voters registration exercise in August, in which I want to urge to take the advantage especially those who may have misplaced their voters register to ensure they obtain another one,”he said.
The APC chairmanship candidate, who was accompanied by the FCT state APC welfare secretary Alhaji Ibrahim Koko and some party executives as well as stakeholders, said that he decided to embark on a ‘thank you’ tour across the ten wards of the council in order to appreciate the delegates and stakeholders for their support given to him during the last primary election.
He, therefore, appreciated other aspirants who stepped down prior to the primary, which he said him to emerged through affirmation as the sole APC chairmanship candidate for the February 21, 2026 election in Kuje area council.
“And you can all see, the nine chairmanship aspirants that contested with me later stepped down me and they are all with me for the thank you tour. Hence, I still want to appreciate the ward delegates, members and supporters of APC in Yenche ward that, we are now one family as we work collectively towards victory come February,21, 2026 election in Kuje area council,”he said.
Our correspondent, also report that the APC chairmanship visited Rubochi ward where he addressed the party’s ward executives, stakeholders, elders forum and women group in the area.
