Toto LG Chairman submits Supervisory Councillors’ names for confirmation

The Speaker of the Toto Local Government Legislative Council, Hon. Abdulhameed Abdullahi Ozimazi, has officially received the names of four nominees from the Executive Chairman, Pharm. Ahmed Baba Yahaya, for screening and confirmation as Supervisory Councillors.
This was announced during a House sitting held in the Toto Local Government legislative chambers on Monday
The nominees presented are:
Hussaini Idris
Salihu Ishaq Kaura
Salihu Ibrahim
Danlami Usman
These individuals will undergo the required screening process before their confirmation as Supervisory Councillors.
The Speaker has instructed the Clerk of the House to notify the nominees that they must submit their Curriculum Vitae (CVs) to the House by 11th August 2025.
“And are expected to appear for screening and possibly confirmation on 11th August, 2025,” he said.
Also, during the session, the Speaker read to the members four bills for consideration by the House as forwarded to by the Executive Chairman.
“A Bill for the Establishment of Toto Local Government Committee of Aast Executive Chairmen and Current Management.
“A Bill for a law to Establish the Toto Local Government Honorary and Award Committee.
“A Bill for the Establishment of Toto Local government Area Forum of Traditional Rulers and Local Government Council.
” A Bill for the Establishment of Toto Local Government Resettlement Committee” he said.
He said these bills when passed into law will enhance good governance and bring about speedy development to the area.
The Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Umar Abdullahi Maji from Toto ward moved motions for the bills consideration and to be enlisted for second reading in the next plenary session and was seconded by the Chief Whip of the House, Hon. Ibrahim Salihu Councillor From Dausu ward.
Furthermore, during the plenary session was the submission of report by the House Committee on Project.
The Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Nura Ahmad Muhammad commended the infrastructural development of the Executive Chairman which were well spread across the three districts of the Local Government Area.
He said that the committee during its tour of projects across the local government was satisfied with the quality of work done.
He directed contractors to ensure that quality work are done.
It would be reported that the House observed a minute silent in honour of the biological father of Hon. Jamilu Danladi of Shafan Abakpa ward who passed on on Monday at Toto General Hospital.
The House called on family to bear the irreparable loss and prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
