No power supply interruption expected during Atuabo plant shutdown – Energy Ministry

The Atuabo Gas Processing Plant is scheduled for a planned two-week shutdown for maintenance from August 16 to August 30, 2025.

The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has approved this maintenance shutdown to enhance the plant’s efficiency and safety systems.

Despite the halt in gas supply to power generators during this shutdown, the Ministry, through its spokesperson Richmond Rockson, has assured that there will be no interruption to electricity supply.

Contingency plans are in place, including the use of alternative fuels nationwide to maintain grid stability and ensure uninterrupted power for homes and industries.

The Ministry emphasizes its strong commitment to reliable power and promises regular updates throughout the maintenance period.

This strategic maintenance aims to reduce long-term outage risks and secure Ghana’s energy infrastructure while keeping the lights on for consumers.

In summary: There will be no expected interruption to power supply during the Atuabo Plant shutdown from August 16 to 30, 2025, thanks to proactive measures and alternative fuel arrangements by the Energy Ministry
