NASWAMSA DG Honoured at Lagos Dinner

The Nasarawa State Waste Management and Sanitation Authority (NASWAMSA) is a government agency established to ensure environmental cleanliness and control of waste in Nasarawa State. It is committed to achieving a waste-free environment in the state through effective waste management services.

The authority is empowered to approve waste management services and has a head office located in Karu Local Government Area.

Hon. Mohammed Bello Isa serves as the Director General of NASWAMSA. He was appointed to the position due to his leadership skills and commitment to public service. Under his leadership, NASWAMSA aims to introduce innovative strategies and implement sustainable sanitation practices to promote a clean and healthy environment across Nasarawa State.

Recently, Hon. Mohammed Bello Isa and his top management team were honored with a special dinner hosted by the Chinese community of Dangote Sinotruk West Africa Ltd, in collaboration with the company’s management and the Rwandan community in Lagos State, Nigeria

This was part of a series of successful strategic engagements in Lagos, which also included productive meetings with Dangote Sinotruk West Africa Ltd, the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), and the Aliko Dangote Foundation.

These engagements reflects NASWAMSA’s active collaboration with key stakeholders in waste management and sanitation beyond Nasarawa State, aiming to enhance its operational effectiveness and service delivery.

Hon. Mohammed Bello Isa has expressed a strong commitment to repositioning NASWAMSA for optimal productivity, including inspecting equipment to ensure proper utilization and functionality.

This proactive approach is vital for effective waste management, including the evacuation of waste bins in various areas of the state. The leadership encourages teamwork and prioritizes the welfare of the staff to drive the organization’s success.

NASWAMSA under the leadership of Hon. Mohammed Bello Isa is pursuing impactful policies and strategic partnerships to enhance waste management and environmental sanitation standards both in Nasarawa State and through collaborations at regional levels such as Lagos.

These meetings marked a significant step in strengthening inter-state and international partnerships focused on advancing sustainable waste management and environmental sanitation practices in Nasarawa State.

The dinner, held in a warm and culturally rich atmosphere, featured traditional Chinese delicacies, providing an opportunity for cultural exchange and informal dialogue.

The Chinese and Rwandan communities expressed appreciation for the DG’s forward-thinking leadership in environmental sustainability and his commitment to fostering meaningful collaboration. Hon. Mohammed Bello Isa expressed gratitude for the hospitality and commended the communities for their support, pledging to communicate their kind gesture to the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule.

The Director General reiterated Nasarawa State’s commitment to building resilient systems through strategic partnerships and innovation in waste management.

The engagements are expected to pave the way for future collaborations in logistics, waste-to-wealth initiatives, and knowledge exchange programs, ultimately benefiting the state and its people.
