The Immediate Past Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has advised newly wedded couples against involving third parties in their marital affairs. He encouraged couples to always build their marriage on trust, openness, sincerity, and unity of purpose to create a solid, peaceful, and everlasting union.

Balarabe Abdullahi, who is the Chairman of the Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu in Yobe State,  emphasized effective communication, mutual understanding, patience, tolerance, and love as core values for a successful marriage. Furthermore, he urged couples to resist negative interference from outside their matrimonial home and to nurture their relationship based on fear of God and religious teachings.

Balarabe Abdullahi stood in for the groom’s father to seek the hand of Ameerah Lawal Salihu in marriage on behalf of Rabo Usman Nana, younger brother to Hon. Ibrahim Aliyu Nana, a member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly representing Keffi West.

This took place during the wedding fatiha of Rabo Usman Nana in Akwanga Local Government Area, Nasarawa State. He made the request to the representative of Ameerah Lawal Salihu’s father, Muhammad Sadauki, for the marriage .

Balarabe Abdullahi then offered his words of encouragements to the couple calling on them to avoid third party interference in their marital issues and wished them the best marriage can offer.

The Chief Imam of Akwanga Central Mosque, Mallam Abdulsalam Ibrahim after announcing N300, 000 as dowry and fulfillment of other conditions pronounced Usman and Amiraah as husband and wife.

He prayed God to bless their union and advised them to adhere strictly to the ethics of the marriage institution.

It was reported that the event had in attendance serving and former lawmakers, commissioners and LG Chairmen.

The former Speaker was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and assumed duty as council chairman in 2024.

Balarabe Abdullahi is known for his extensive experience and dedication to public service, and he has been engaged in repositioning the Federal Polytechnic Damaturu in line with national educational goals.

His leadership has been welcomed by various stakeholders, including government officials and communities in Nasarawa State.
