2027: Why Governor Sule Should Consider Muhammed Maikaya as Successor
By Yahaya Idris
With Governor Abdullahi Alhaji Sule launching the search for a suitable successor to assume office upon completing his eight-year constitutional term in 2027, politicians within and outside the government circle are actively seeking the Governor’s endorsement, which could potentially guarantee a smooth electoral victory.

The battle is shifting to Nasarawa Western district, because maintaining zoning tradition has particularly given room for peace and unity in the electoral contest within the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).
As the search commences, the people of the State, particularly the stakeholders, are pursuing every avenue, as they have expressed their desire to see the Toto-born entrepreneur, Alhaji Musa Muhammed Maikaya, entrusted with the responsibility of expanding the Governor’s remarkable legacy established across the state.
Maikaya, hailing from Toto LG in Nasarawa West, is a prime candidate to succeed Governor Abdullahi Sule, given his status as a core party member. He merits the support and solidarity of the people’s Governor.
Although Maikaya is not new to Nasarawa politics, having run for governorship on the governing party’s platform in 2019, he has utilised his foundation to improve the lives of the downtrodden across the 13 Local Government Areas.
Maikaya, through his foundation, registered over 700 Nasarawa residents, primarily women, with the Nasarawa Health Insurance Scheme.
The Ciroman Toto and CEO of Maikaya Development Foundation, Alhaji Muhammed Maikaya has rendered invaluable services to the development of Nasarawa State, complementing the efforts of Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration.

His foundation has implemented impactful initiatives targeting youths and women, focusing on sports, education, health, agriculture and empowerment.
Maikaya, who graduated from the University of Jos, is presently working with NNPC
