The people of Toto town, Toto local government area in Nasarawa State are celebrating the timely intervention by Alhaji Abdulhamid Umar, the National Project Coordinator for Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL), for facilitating critical infrastructural developments to address severe erosion threatening lives and homes in Toto community.
Yahaya Idris, a youth from the community and publisher of Global Times Nigeria Online News, expressed deep appreciation for the ACReSAL project coordinator’s extensive consideration and thoughtfulness in attracting the major developmental project to Toto Local Government.
He stated that the people of Toto are very pleased with the recent development and will continue to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, assuring their commitment to reelect him in 2027.
“This is one of our major problem in Toto, hundred of houses have been eroded and several homes are being threatened. Thank God for your timely intervention.”
Alhaji Umar, from Umaisha district in Toto, as a project coordinator contributed hugely to the World Bank-backed ACReSAL project, which focuses on restoring degraded lands, promoting climate-resilient agriculture, and improving water access across 19 northern Nigerian states.

The initiative aims to restore 1 million hectares of degraded land by 2030, part of Nigeria’s goal of 4 million hectares.
