SGF Akume tasks Northern Christian leaders to partner with Tinubu’s administration

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has called on Northern Christian Religious Leaders to work in synergy with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s federal government administration to enable it to succeed.
He emphasized the essential role of religious leaders in fostering national unity, strengthening security, and promoting peaceful coexistence as part of the success of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
Akume made this call during a meeting with a delegation of clergy from the Northern Pentecostal and Charismatic Bishops Communion of Nigeria, noting that the faith community’s collaboration is critical to the government’s efforts in national development and stability.
He praised President Tinubu’s inclusive governance and his administration’s progress in education, infrastructure, the economy, and security, urging religious leaders to champion national unity and provide support through prayer and advice for leaders to govern righteously.
“Tinubu inherited zero in foreign reserves but has saved 42.2 billion dollars, which is remarkable and worth commending. We are on the right track because we’re doing the right thing as the federal government.”
George Akume commended the organizers and urged them to promote harmony among different ethnic nationalities in Northern Nigeria, working in line with scriptures. He promised federal government support to enable them to succeed.
Guest speaker Dr. John Gara said Christians have a duty to build the nation, disagreeing with those who claim Nigeria’s creation was a mistake. He prophesied that Nigeria will remain united, urging leaders to champion peace and unity.
The National Chairman of NOCRELA, Bishop John Praise Daniel, and General Secretary, Reverend Simon Dolly, stated that the assembly aims to promote peace and unity among Christians and their neighbors.
According to them, Leaders were selected from 19 Northern states to identify potential and support governments in fighting insecurity.
The new officials include: Bishop John Praise Daniel, chairman, Most Rev. Marcus Amfani, Vice chairman while the position of the Secretary General went to Rev. Dr. Simon Dolly, Assistant Secretary General, Prof. Suleiman Matazu.
Others are, prof. Abraham Auke Adams, National Advisers, Peace and Security, Rev. Bitrus Dangiwa, is the National adviser on Politics and Governance, among others.
The representative of the CAN president inaugurated the new leaders, while the patron of NOCRELA, Prof. Suleiman Bogoro, charged them to be good ambassadors.
The highpoint were the presentation and decoration of officials by the representative of the Sultan of Sokoto, Esu Karu Pharmacist Luka Panya Baba.
