The Oba community in Idemili South Local Government Area has pledged full support for Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s second term bid by announcing a ₦50 million campaign donation as a sign of their commitment. Along with this financial support, the community outlined urgent developmental demands for their town during the endorsement rally.

They also expressed appreciation for previous developmental approvals, such as the ₦3 billion Oba-Umuoji road project, which highlights their desire for continued infrastructure and socio-economic development under Governor Soludo’s administration.

The endorsement came during a grand rally in Oba, where the President General of Oba Patriotic Union (OPU), Engr. Anthony Uzo Ejiofor (Ezeugonna), praised Soludo’s visionary strides in security, economic transformation, and urban renewal. He expressed gratitude for the Governor’s recent approval of the strategic Oba–Umuoji–Akwukwu road, estimated at over ₦3 billion, which he described as the community’s top priority for unlocking trade, mobility, and growth across the Idemili axis.

Ejiofor further urged Soludo to extend appointments to Oba indigenes, and to officially designate Rojenny Tourist and Sports Village as Anambra State’s Sports Centre, citing its historic role in producing Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets of 1993 and its recognition by CAF for continental tournaments.

Community leaders explained that their ₦50 million donation symbolised Oba’s readiness to back their endorsement with tangible action. “Oba will not only vote but also invest in Soludo’s second term,” they declared.

In a related remark, the Deputy Mayor of Idemili South, Hon. Ifeanyi Anakuba, hailed Ejiofor for his collaborative leadership and his inspiring performance at the rally, which he said directly influenced Soludo’s nod for the Oba–Umuoji road. He praised the synergy between Ejiofor, the Mayor of Idemili South, Hon. Dr. Mrs. Amaka Obi (Iyom Ife-Abata), and the state government, stressing that their unity had proven how community–government partnership could accelerate life-changing development.

He encouraged other President Generals across Idemili to emulate Ejiofor by fostering stronger ties with government to attract meaningful projects.

Oba’s traditional ruler, HRM Igwe Engr. A.C. Emelobe (Ezeokpoko II of Oba), joined voices with community leaders to pledge maximum support for Soludo’s re-election in November, noting that Oba’s growing population and voting strength would be mobilised behind the Governor’s transformative agenda.

With the ₦3 billion road project now approved, the community expressed optimism that other pressing requests—including more infrastructure, appointments for Oba indigenes, and the formal recognition of Rojenny Sports Village as the State Sports Capital—will soon receive Soludo’s seal of approval.

“Oba is ready to partner with government, contribute our quota, and stand as a model of grassroots progress in Anambra State,” Ejiofor declared.
