Agbarho APC leadership passes vote of confidence on Ughelli North LG APC Chairman
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Agbarho Leadership Council has expressed a vote of confidence in the chairman of APC Ughelli North LGA, Delta State, Hon. Obakpororo Onoabedje.
In a statement made available to Journalists on Friday jointly signed by Double Chief Mathias Efe Olowu
Chairman, APC Agbarho Leadership Council and Comrade Igho Otu, Secretary described the purported suspension of Hon. Onoabedje as illegal, unconstitutional, and contrary to the party’s constitution.
The leadership labeled the suspension as fraudulent and dead on arrival, asserting that the suspension was carried out without a valid meeting or proper authority.
They further stated that those behind the suspension should be expelled from the party, noting that they should be made to face criminal charges for attempting to instigate crisis within Ughelli North APC.
The Agbarho Leadership Council and other APC executives have reaffirmed their support for Hon. Onoabedje and condemned the purported suspension as a breach of party rules designed to maintain unity and discipline.
They also took steps to indefinitely suspend certain individuals involved for gross misconduct, calling them impostors and destabilizing agents.
“We want to remind all party faithfuls that Hon Obakpororo Onoabedje was duly elected to the office of the LGA chairman of the party and as such, only a process known to the party constitution can remove him and not kangaroo process”
Again, this action of governor Sheriff loyalists to take over the party structure with force only means, governor Sheriff is not interested in building the party but to destroy it
The question will would like to ask Governor Sheriff is that, was the party sold to him and if yes,he should show us, particularly the foundation members of the party the receipt he used in acquiring the party to enable us to know if we can work with him or leave the party for him because this clandestine act of the governor loyalists to destroy the party will damage the electoral value of the party in the state
“We hereby call on all party faithfuls in the LGA to rally round our chairman”
An LGA chairman who delivered 100% in the last election ought to be celebrated and elevated and not this inglorious treatment
“It’s on record that,Hon Obakpororo Onoabedje delivered two House of Assembly,A house of Rep, A senator, Governor and president in the Ughelli North LGAbin last election, that’s 100/100 as such,we can only elevate him and not to demote him.”
