Kokona: Nasarawa Speaker Jatau condemns Nindama community deadly attack, visits scene, calls for calm
Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau Ph.D, has recently visited Nindama Community in Kokona Local Government Area after a midnight attack by unknown gunmen.
Speaker Jatau visited the affected community to commiserate with the victims of the deadly attack and condemned the violence. The attack resulted in at least eight to nine people killed and six others missing.
The Speaker Dr. Danladi Jatau visited the community today Wednesday to sympathized with the residents and families of those who lost their loved ones during the attack.
It would be recalled that last Thursday night some groups of unknown gunmen attacked Nindama community of Kokona LGA of the State resulted to the lost of many innocent lives.
The Speaker Dr. Danladi Jatau who paid a sympathy visit to the people of the area called for calm among the residents assuring them that Governor Abdullahi Sule has taken a proactive steps to prevent future reoccurrence.
“This is very sad, very unfortunate, barbaric and painful, but let leave vengeance to God Almighty, He will definitely fight for the innocent”
“God gives life and has not permit anyone to take the other persons life, taking life is a great sin before God, and a great offence by the law of the land, we should not pay evil with evil, God and the law will take its curse”
“I am here to sympathized with you on behalf of the entire Nasarawa State House of Assembly, accept our heartfelt condolences, sympathy and prayers”
“I want to commend the Governor Engr. Abdullahi A Sule for the practical steps he has so far taken in respect to this incident and to assured you that Government is on top of the situation”
“Let continue to stay together in peace and unity, love one another and be our brother’s keeper, there is nothing that is greater than the peace we are enjoying, let sustain and promote peace at all times, stay together because there is no any benefit in killing ” the Speaker said.
The Speaker condemned the attack in its entirety calling on people to always have fear of God in all their dealings to build an egalitarian society for all.
Responding, the ward head of the community Ibrahim Alkali said his people and the entire community were shocked and thrown into mourning as a result of the Thursday midnight attack by unknown gunmen which claimed many lives of innocent people.
He appreciated the Speaker for the visit praying God to reward him and made a case for more support for the people as well as more presence of security personnel.
