The program, which had earlier disbursed ₦45,000 to each participant in August and September (representing three months’ stipends), continues to bring relief to thousands.

The Widows Welfare Scheme is a key component of the MORE agenda, the flagship socio-economic policy of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration aimed at improving the lives of Delta’s most vulnerable populations.

Speaking on the latest disbursement, the Scheme’s Coordinator, Elder Isioma Okonta, reaffirmed the Oborevwori administration’s commitment to social welfare and inclusion.

“This initiative is not just about giving money; it’s about restoring dignity, providing hope, and showing our widows that they are not forgotten.

Through the Governor’s visionary MORE agenda, we are reaching those who need support the most,” Okonta said.

Since its inception, the Widows Welfare Scheme has reportedly touched the lives of thousands of women across the state, easing their financial burdens and offering a consistent stream of support.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has continued to receive praise for prioritizing the welfare of the most vulnerable Deltans.

The Widows Welfare Scheme is widely seen as a shining example of targeted social intervention that delivers real impact.
