The Kpuchum Care Initiative, a non-governmental and non-profit organization established in February 2025, has once again demonstrated its commitment to humanity through the distribution of food items to inmates at the Keffi Correctional Centre.

The outreach, sponsored by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the organization, Mr. Victor Tenimu Okpe, was part of the initiative’s effort to extend love and care to the less privileged, particularly those behind bars.
Speaking during the exercise, the Coordinator of Kpuchum Care Initiative, Mr. Geoffrey Babale, explained that the visit was aimed at showing compassion and support to the prisoners through the provision of essential food items such as Garri, Maggi, Gugar, detergents, among others.
“This Organization is located in Akwanga, Andaha to be precise. Since its establishment in February early this year, we’ve visited a lot of places, which include schools, hospitals, and communities. We’ve also rehabilitated 30 boreholes in some communities, paid fees of patients in hospitals as well as students in various schools. This is the sole aim of the Organization—Care for Humanity—and reaching out to the less privileged in the society is our priority,” he said.
Also speaking, Mr. Abbas Adamu, a member of the Kpuchum Care Initiative, reiterated the organization’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian service, emphasizing that their visit to the correctional centre is part of a broader outreach programme.
“We were also at Wamba Prison last week for this same purpose. Our motive and goal is to give a helping hand to the needy—Service to Humanity. So far, we’ve also empowered youths and widows in various localities in both cash and kind.
“We thank the Founder, Mr. Victor Tenimu Okpe, for his wonderful works in various forms. His selfless and caring nature is what brought about the Kpuchum Care Initiative—Service to Humanity—and he’s ensuring that these services reach individuals across the country.”
Representatives of the Keffi Correctional Centre, including Officer Yinaka Joseph and Pastor Shedrach, the Chaplain in charge of the Christian faith at the centre, expressed appreciation to the NGO for their gesture, acknowledging the importance of such visits in uplifting the inmates’ spirits.
“We appreciate your efforts in reaching out to us. It’s not easy to do this which you have done, so we sincerely thank you. May God see you through and bless the organization as a whole,” they said, while noting that the government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has continued to provide for the welfare of prisoners”.

Some inmates, represented by the provosts of various cells, also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Kpuchum Care Initiative for their benevolent act.
They further appealed to the organization to continue supporting them and help address some of the challenges they face within the facility.
Highpoint of the ceremony was the official presentation of the items to the inmates.
