Oborevwori to Receive PTI Leadership Award at International Hydrocarbon Conference in Delta

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has been nominated to receive the Award of Excellence in Leadership at the 2025 International Conference on Hydrocarbon Science and Technology (ICHST), organised by the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) Effurun, Delta State.

In a formal notification letter signed by the Registrar of PTI, Mr. Isaac Fregene, the institution said the award was in recognition of Governor Oborevwori’s exceptional leadership and profound contributions to the oil and gas sector, particularly through policies and initiatives that have enhanced sustainable development within Delta State and beyond.

PTI in the letter commended the governor’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and inclusiveness in driving growth and stability across the hydrocarbon industry, noting that his administration’s development strides have set a commendable benchmark for governance in the energy sector, nationwide.

The conference, themed “Transforming Africa’s Hydrocarbon Sector: Balancing Growth, Environment and Governance,” will bring together top industry regulators and stakeholders, including the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), NNPC Academy, NNPC-RTI, and Cyphercrescent.

The event is scheduled to hold from October 22 to 23, 2025, at the PTDF Towers, Central Business District, Abuja, with the award presentation billed for the opening ceremony on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 10 a.m.

PTI noted that Governor Oborevwori’s recognition reflects the growing national appreciation of Delta State’s pivotal role in promoting energy sector transformation, environmental balance, and good governance under his leadership.
