Former Benue Governor Ortom condoles with Senator Moro over loss of son, grandson
The immediate past Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom, has expressed deep shock and sympathy to Senate Minority Leader, Senator Patrick Abba Moro over the tragic loss of his son and grandson within two days.
Ortom in a statement issued on Monday, October 20, 2025 by Terver Akase, his Media Adviser and Consultant, described the incident as a heartbreaking double tragedy beyond words.
He stated that Victor Moro, the son, had just completed his studies in Turkey and was serving in the National Youth Service Corps when he died in a fatal motor accident, a loss especially painful for the family.
Ortom conveyed his heartfelt condolences, prayed for comfort for the bereaved family, and wished eternal rest for the departed souls.
The Moro family and their associates are in mourning, and this tragedy has deeply affected all who know Senator Moro as a committed public servant and leader

ORTOM CONSOLES SENATOR MORO OVER LOSS OF SON, GRANDSON
The immediate past Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom, has expressed shock over the bereavement suffered by the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Patrick Abba Moro, who lost his son and grandson within the space of two days.
Chief Ortom describes the incident as a heartbreaking double tragedy that words can hardly express, and notes that the pain of losing two family members in such quick succession is beyond comprehension.
He says the death of Peter Moro, a young man full of promise who had just completed his studies in Turkey and returned home to serve his country under the National Youth Service Corps, only for his life to be cut short in a fatal motor accident is especially devastating.
The former Governor states that the tragedy has not only thrown the Moro family into mourning but has also brought great sorrow to all their friends relations and associates, particularly those who know Senator Moro as a committed public servant and leader.
“This is indeed a moment of deep pain and sorrow for my brother and friend, Senator Abba Moro. No words are enough to console a father in this kind of situation. My heart goes out to him and the entire family. I pray that God, in His infinite mercy, will comfort them and grant the souls of the departed eternal rest”, Chief Ortom says.
He further prays that the Almighty God strengthens Senator Moro and his loved ones, granting them the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
