Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has extended heartfelt condolences to Alhaji Auwalu Tukur, Chairman of the Delta State Muslim Welfare Pilgrims Board, on the passing of his mother, Hajiya Hafsatu Tukur, who died at the age of 92.

Speaking on behalf of the Governor during a condolence visit, the Commissioner, Bureau for Special Duties, Hon. Ejiro Terry Etacherure, described the late Hajiya Hafsatu as a loving and principled matriarch who made meaningful contributions to her community and the Muslim faithful in Asaba.

“Her life was marked by devotion, generosity, and a strong sense of community leadership,” Hon. Etacherure said. “Governor Oborevwori recognizes her contributions and mourns with the Tukur family at this difficult time.”

The commissioner was accompanied by the Director of the Delta State Fire Service, Dr. Eugene Oziwele, and the Director of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Mr. Alfred Ebreneyin.

The delegation reiterated the Governor’s dedication to fostering unity and inclusiveness across religious lines in the state.

“Governor Oborevwori remains committed to building a harmonious and dynamic society where people of all faiths can thrive together,” Etacherure added.

In his response, Alhaji Auwalu Tukur expressed gratitude to the Delta State Government for its outpouring of support.

He praised the administration for its inclusive approach, noting that “Governor Oborevwori does not discriminate based on religion.”
