The State Coordinator of the ADC Coalition Committee and Drputy Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency, Chief John Mike Abdul, stated in a statement made available to Journalists on Thursday, described Comr. Idris Ojoko as a vibrant and committed young leader whose passion for public communication and democratic development aligns perfectly with the vision and mission of the ADC.

The leadership of the Nasarawa State African Democratic Congress (ADC) Coalition Committee has officially announced the appointment of Comrade Idris Ojoko as the State Publicity Secretary of the party.
The appointment, which was ratified during the committee’s crucial meeting on Wednesday 22nd October, 2025, follows a careful review of Comr. Ojoko’s exceptional contributions to media engagement, youth mobilization and grassroots political communication across the state.
In a statement by the State Coordinator of the ADC Coalition Committee, His Excellency, Chief John Mike Abdul, the committee described Comr. Idris Ojoko as a vibrant and committed young leader whose passion for public communication and democratic development aligns perfectly with the vision and mission of the ADC.
The statement further emphasized that the appointment is part of the party’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its media and public relations structure ahead of the forthcoming political activities in the state and at the national level.
He added that Comrade Idris Ojoko has consistently demonstrated integrity, professionalism and creativity in advancing the cause of participatory democracy and good governance. That he is confident that Ojoko’s wealth of experience in advocacy, communication and leadership will add great value to the ADC family in Nasarawa State.
Responding to his appointment, Comr. Idris Ojoko expressed deep appreciation to the ADC Coalition Committee for the confidence reposed in him, promising to justify the trust through hard work, transparency and effective information management.
The committee called on party members, supporters and the general public to give full support and cooperation to the new Publicity Secretary as he assumes his official responsibilities.
Politically, Comr Idris Ojoko was first appointed as the pioneer Secretary of APC (during the merger) of Kokona LGA in 2013 and was re-elected in 2014 during the party Congresses before he left to the Republic of Uganda for the Technical Aid Corps programme under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Upon his return to Nigeria, Ojoko was appointed as Personal Assistant to the Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa state on media in June 2017, an appointment he held until he was upgraded to the post of Personal Assistant to the Executive Governor of Nasarawa state on New Media.in November, 2017. Ojoko was later elected as Nasarawa State Assistant Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC). In 2018, He was elected as Nasarawa State Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and later became the Chairman of 36 States’ and FCT Chairmen’s Forum of NYCN.
In 2022, Comr. Idris Ojoko contested for Kokona LGC Chairman under the platform of APC but lost at the primaries. He later contested and emerged as the PDP Candidate for Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Kokona West in 2023. Until his appointment, he was the ADC Steering Committee Chairman of Kokona LGA who brought on board the ADC leadership of Kokona LGA and its Wards.
