Barrister Muhammed Tanko Musa (Osuku), the Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Civil Service Commission, has expressed deep appreciation to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his reappointment following the successful completion of his first tenure, he also thanked the Kogi State House of Assembly for recognizing his good work and confidence in him.

The legal Luminary pledged to build on his past achievements by prioritizing the welfare of civil servants through regular promotions, improved working conditions, and ensuring that promotions come with financial benefits.

According to him, his responsibilities include recruitment, appointment, promotion, and discipline of civil servants, aiming to make civil servants “wear smiling faces” through these efforts.

It would be recalled during his screening, the Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Comfort Nwuchiola Egwaba commended Tanko’s loyalty and dedication, viewing his reappointment as a reward for his steadfast service.

Barrister Tanko also acknowledged former Governor Yahaya Bello for initially appointing him in 2020.

He said under Governor Ododo’s leadership, significant strides in transforming the civil service, such as digital transformation, payment of salaries and bonuses, and policy improvements have been made.

Barrister Tanko emphasized that the primary role of the commission is to recruit, promote, handle appeals, and discipline civil servants.

He assured that the commission’s activities will be firmly guided by its mandate.

He also pledged to maintain the positive relationships he had with the former Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello and the current Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to benefit civil servants.

Barrister Tanko stated that he will seek approval to promote civil servants and ensure their grade levels are regularly updated and reflected in their pay.

The commission’s chairman expressed gratitude to the Chairman of Kogi Local Government Area, Hon. Abdulmalik Musa, the representative of Ohimegye Igu-Koton Karfe and his community leaders from Osuku for attending the dinner held in celebration of his reappointment.

He advocated for continued support to consolidate these gains

In his remarks, Hon. Sadiq Abubakar Onah, All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman for Kogi Local Government Area, congratulated Barrister Tanko on his well-deserved appointment.

He assured that party members and executives will continue to support him to ensure his success.
