Let the wailers continue to cry their hearts out and continue with your unwarranted plots against Former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Dr. Yahaya Adoza Bello, they will all amount to nothing. No matter how hard they try, they will not be able to stop him because he is a man who has transcend across the length and breath of Politics not just in Kogi State but beyond.
From time immemorial, all States, regions and the world over always have an arrow head steering the ship of politics. Till tomorrow, you cannot talk about Lagos Politics without mentioning His Excellency, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria because of the significant role he played, legacies left and the men he made in the political terrain both in Lagos and beyond.
In Kogi State, His Excellency, Yahaya Adoza Bello, the Former Governor of the Confluence State also toed same path and he made children of nobody to become somebody, gave voice to the voiceless and as well, became a pathfinder to many within the eight years (two tenure) that he served the people of the State.
One thing is sure, both in Nigeria and the world over, No government is ever spared by the citizens, they must be criticised no matter how hard they try to please them. Of course, those in positions of authorities are human as well, cannot be right at all times, they make errors, this we all know but in it, they find their paths, make amendments and forge ahead.
Yahaya Bello became a Leader by divine orchestration but with commitment, he sustained leadership with visible and undeniable footprints across the three Senatorial Districts of Kogi State. Prince Abubakar Audu will forever be remembered for establishing Kogi State University Ayingba (now Prince Abubakar Audu University PAAU) as renamed by FGYB.
Yahaya Bello on the other hand, established two functional Universities, Confluence University of Science and Technology Osara and for the very first time since the creation of the State, Okunland got her first University, Kogi State University, Kabba; a history made by Yahaya Adoza Bello.
One thing I love so much is that the achievements of Yahaya Bello in Kogi State are so visible that even the blind can see them. They are not just hear say, they can be verified by all and sundry with little or no assistance.
For a man that has done so much for the State, why should men still be ganging up against him, to the level of calling on the President to silence him? Why not eschew bitterness and embrace love because in politics there are neither permanent friends nor permanent friends but permanent interest. Calling on the Presidency to silence a leader whose voice and capacity both in the State and Party’s affair is always heard loud and clear is a call that is dead on arrival. Moreso, calling on a political diplomat and strategist like His Excellency, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR to silence Bello is also a mistake before he already knows that such is for selfish interest.
Life is turn by turn. Now is the turn of Yahaya Bello to serve as the supreme Leader of Kogi Politics, a position he earned through hard work and commitment to duty.
To this end I say, the political space is wide enough for everyone to showcase their ability, you don’t need to engage in pull him down activities to rise because you can’t pull down a man who has the backing of God.
To my people from the Western Senatorial District, I will remind us again that our journey to the Lugard House will be shorter and faster through our sustained alignment with the people of the Central Senatorial District. Let us support Ododo for a second tenure and thereafter, we know they will reciprocate same gesture to us at the right time.
On this note I remind us again that just like His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR is in Lagos, Yahaya Adoza Bello will remain relevant in Kogi Politics.
