The Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Aridaojo Anyebe, has stated that Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has placed youths at the core of the state’s development agenda. This, he said includes empowerment opportunities, sports development, and entrepreneurship support.

He emphasized that the Governor has created more avenues for young people to actively participate and thrive, positioning them as key players in Kogi State’s progress rather than mere spectators.

The Commissioner made these remarks during the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected Kogi State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, chaired by Comrade Abdulrahman Abdulmumuni Enesi.

The event took place at the Banquet Hall of the Kogi State Government House Lokoja on Thursday.

“I want to sincerely said that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is not only the for Governor for the State but a Governor for the Youths.”

The young Commissioner emphasized that the primary reason for their gathering today is to acknowledge the significant contribution of the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ali Bello, to the event’s success.

He further noted that Alhaji Ali Bello has played a crucial role in the achievements of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development during his tenure.

“I stand here on behalf of over one million youths across Kogi State to congratulate you and as well wish you well as you set for your new office.”

Commissioner Aridaojo underscored the importance of the gathering in the Banquet Hall, noting that it was not merely for the inauguration of the new leadership.

He charged the new officials of the NYCN to form partnerships with the present government and recognize leadership as an opportunity to serve humanity, rather than an entitlement.

He extended congratulations to the newly inaugurated officials of the NYCN, tasking them to work closely with the State Government and use their offices to foster peace, good governance, and unity among the youth in the State.

He assured the new leadership that all outlined items would be submitted to the Governor for appropriate action

The Commissioner appreciated Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for priotizing the youths, he said the youth are happy with him and describing him as a father for all.

He recognised the former State chairmen including Comrade Opotu, Comrade Bala, Comrade SB and others who have served selflessness and diligently.

The Commissioner also recognized the former 21 LGAs NYCN forum coordinator, who represented Adavi Local Government as a man who believes in youth leadership.

Global Times Nigeria reports that the event attracted high-profile attendees, including the Commissioner of Police, Director of State Service (DSS), NSCDC officials, and other paramilitary agencies.

The new Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) was officially inducted as State Chairman by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development.
