The Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education, Professor Nyerhovwo Tonukari, has expressed profound appreciation to the Delta State House of Assembly for the passage of the Dual Mode Programme for Colleges of Education in the state.
In a statement on Friday, in Asaba, Prof. Tonukari specially lauded the Chairman of the House Committee on Education, Hon. Charles Emetulu, for his leadership and commitment in championing the bill that paved the way for this groundbreaking initiative.
He described the dual mode programme as a transformative milestone in the state’s education sector, noting that it allows students to obtain both the NCE and degree certificates concurrently, without the need for affiliation with other institutions.
According to him, “This innovative policy is a game-changer that will significantly enhance access, efficiency, and quality in our tertiary education system. It eliminates unnecessary academic barriers and empowers students to achieve their aspirations with greater ease.”
Prof. Tonukari also extended gratitude to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor and members of the Delta State House of Assembly for their collective effort in making the programme a reality, describing them as true champions of education whose visionary leadership continues to shape the future of Delta State.
“This is a major win for our students and for the future of higher education in Delta State,” he added. “Thank you, Hon. Charles Emetulu, and all honourable members of the Assembly, for your steadfast dedication to the growth and development of our state.”
