Edward Onoja denies Social Media reports of new appointment by President Bola Tinubu
….Says he remains committed to SEDC, thanks President Tinubu

Chief David Edward Onoja, the immediate past Deputy Governor of Kogi State, has dismissed social media reports that he was newly appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to head another board.

Chief David Edward Onoja, who also served as the Chief of Staff to the Kogi State Government from January 2016 to October 2019 before becoming Deputy Governor from 2019 to 2024, has urged his supporters and Nigerians at large to discard the social media reports alleging any new appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He reiterated that he remains a board member of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), representing the North Central geopolitical zone, and has not been newly appointed to head any board.
The renowned philanthropist and grassroots politician expressed gratitude for his current role on the SEDC board and dismissed the false rumors circulating on social media

PUBLIC STATEMENT
My attention has been drawn to a story currently circulating on social media suggesting that I have received a new appointment from His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
For the avoidance of doubt, my current and only portfolio remains that of Board Member, South East Development Commission (SEDC), representing the North Central geopolitical zone. A responsibility for which I remain profoundly grateful to Mr. President.

I sincerely appreciate the goodwill messages and kind words from friends, associates, and supporters. However, I wish to state categorically that I am fully committed to my present assignment and deeply focused on working with our Chairman, Managing Director, and esteemed colleagues to advance Mr. President’s vision for the South East region and Nigeria at large.
May I also use this opportunity to remind us that beyond our regional or political affiliations, we are first and foremost Nigerians. Our shared destiny requires that we stand together, integrate our strengths, and unite our hearts in building the nation of our collective dreams.
