International Youth Day: Coalition of Nasarawa Youths led by NYCN Chairman, Ja’afar Loko engages stakeholders

The Coalition of youth leaders from over 28 groups under the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Nasarawa State Chapter, led by it’s Chairman, Comrade Muhammad Ja’afar Loko, has passed a consensual vote of confidence on Governor Abdullahi A. Sule and his administration, reflecting strong support for his leadership.

The youth groups said Governor Sule’s administration in Nasarawa State is noted for its transformative governance marked by infrastructural development, investment attraction, agricultural progress, educational advancement, and improved security, among other achievements, over his six years in office.
The coalition equally passed a vote of confidence on Hon Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim, the first young female Minister from Nasarawa State and the Federal Minister of Women Affairs. The coalition appreciates her positive impact on the lives of residents through empowerment and skill acquisition programs.
They described Minister Imaan as a competent and committed leader who advocates for women, children, and youth, with backing from Governor Sule providing an enabling environment for women and youth development in Nasarawa State
“This event marked a significant celebration aimed at involving young people and addressing their interests, aligning with the goals of the International Youth Day 2025, which focuses on empowering the next generation of leaders to create positive community changes.
The engagement under Comrade Ja’afar Muhammad Loko’s leadership unveiled youth inclusion and development efforts in Nasarawa State.
The event, which served as a platform for meaningful dialogue and collaboration among youth leaders, policymakers, and government representatives, was chaired by Prof. Abdulkareem Kana, SAN, a distinguished scholar and public servant and National Deputy Secretary General of All Progressive Congress (APC).

The forum also had in attendance several eminent personalities, including the Deputy Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammad Oyanki; the Director-General of the Nasarawa Investment and Development Agency (NASIDA), Barr. Ibrahim Abdullahi; the Executive Secretary, Nasarawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency; and the Director-General, Market Bureau, Prince Ubangari.
A key highlight of the engagement was a thought-provoking presentation by Rt. Hon. Shuaibu Sani, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth and Students Affairs, who delivered a paper on “The Importance of Youth Empowerment and Development”. He emphasized the crucial role of young people in driving innovation, economic growth, and good governance in Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large.
The event reaffirmed the commitment of the Nasarawa State Government and youth stakeholders to fostering youth inclusion, empowerment, and leadership development as essential pillars for sustainable progress in the state.
