2027: Defection of ex-Gov Wada, Abenemi shows opposition no longer exists in Kogi – Barr. Tanko Osuku

In Kogi State, there has been a significant political shift where opposition parties, including key figures from People Democratic Party, PDP, and Social Democratic Party, SDP, have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) across all 21 local government areas.

Hon. Barr. Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku, Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Civil Service Commission and an APC chieftain, stated on the decamping ceremony of former Governor Captain Idris Ichala Wada and other prominent opposition politicians such as Hon. Sam Abenemi and Rt. Hon. Alfa Imam, describing the defections as a unifying move for the development of Kogi State.

Tanko praised Wada as a refined gentleman expected to contribute significantly to the state’s progress.

The legal luminary said the defections key figures are about uniting the people for the common good beyond merely increasing APC numbers and that the opposition is effectively giving up due to the impactful leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

“This mass defection means that the opposition no longer exists effectively in the good governance and leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo Ododo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and.”

Tanko commended Gov Ododo for his leadership style, which has restored trust and inspired these political shifts.

“These political realignments indicate a dominant APC presence and a largely diminished opposition landscape in Kogi State ahead of upcoming elections.”

 

Predicted 2027 elections as a walkover for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the duo have shown leadership that deserved reelections.
