Senator Karimi says attack on Niger school targets Tinubu administration
……Urge State Governors to step up
countermeasures against insecurity
Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, has condemned the recent attacks and kidnappings of schoolchildren in Niger State, describing them as acts by mischief makers aimed at tarnishing President Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Sen. Karimi, who currently represents Kogi West Senatorial District urged Nigerians to maintain faith in the government, underscoring President Tinubu’s dedication to protecting lives and properties.

The outspoken Kogi West Senator’s comments come in reaction to violent incidents like the abduction of students from St. Mary’s School in Papiri, Niger State, which occurred despite government warnings and temporary closure orders for boarding schools in the area.
He strongly believed that these attacks are part of concerted efforts to discredit the current federal government and called for support of the administration’s countermeasures against insecurity.
In a statement issued in Lokoja, on Friday, Karimi stressed the urgency for state governments to establish Community Security Agencies as part of the first line of defense to complement national efforts in securing communities.
He emphasized the importance of active citizen involvement in defending their communities and sharing crucial information with security agencies to combat insecurity effectively.
Senator Karimi further stated that the attacks on schools and children are part of a coordinated pattern of insecurity in Nigeria but assured that such criminal plans would ultimately fail.
Our correspondent reports that Karimi’s call received attention amid heightened concerns over rising kidnapping and insecurity incidents in his Kogi West senatorial district and nationwide.
His advocacy for community-based security measures was also aimed at fostering cooperation between local populations and security forces to restore peace and safety in affected areas.

The Senator also reassured the public of ongoing efforts and optimistic outlook toward surmounting these security challenges through collective action and enhanced community engagement alongside government interventions.
