APC Delta Unites as Agege Backs Oborevwori’s Leadership

In a significant move to consolidate unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has publicly acknowledged Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as the undisputed leader of the party in the state.
This declaration, made during a marriage ceremony attended by several dignitaries, has been welcomed by stakeholders and is seen as a crucial step in solidifying party cohesion ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, in a statement on Friday, praised Senator Agege’s gesture, noting that it puts to rest speculations about potential discord between the governor and the senator, following the mass defection of members from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to APC in April.
Oghenesivbe highlighted that this display of unity and recognition of Oborevwori’s leadership by the former Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District would further strengthen the party’s position and ability to deliver effortlessly on the reelection of President Bola Tinubu, and governor Oborevwori in the forthcoming general elections.
The traditional marriage event where Agege made his acknowledgment was at the instance of Chief Ayiri Emami, a chieftain and stakeholder in APC Delta, whose efforts in fostering a platform for unity and reconciliation were also commended by Oghenesivbe. He said Senator Agege has done the needful, describing him as a loyal party member, and a major stakeholder who made Delta State proud during his tenure at the Red Chamber.
This development, according to the Bureau Chief, underscores the commitment of APC leaders in Delta State to work together under the pragmatic leadership of governor Oborevwori, ensuring a people-focused approach to governance and party management.

Dr Oghenesivbe, assured that Governor Oborevwori’s leadership will continue to guide the party towards greater heights, leveraging the collective strength and diverse perspectives of its members to achieve electoral success and continue the implementation of the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda till May 29, 2031 in Delta State.
