Kogi LG Poll: Dekina LG stakeholders endorse Urah Ikani for second term
….Describes him as a performing Chairman
The stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including state and local government appointees in Dekina Local Government, have unanimously endorsed Hon. John Urah Ikani, the performing incumbent Executive Chairman, for continuity in office until 2028.
This, the endorsement reflects strong unity, gratitude, and loyalty to the party and his leadership.
Hon. John Urah Ikani has demonstrated proactive leadership in Dekina, notably through efforts to enhance security by collaborating with security agencies and traditional rulers, which has helped restore peace in the area.
His administration has also prioritized infrastructural development including road projects and youth empowerment initiatives, inline with the developmental goals of Kogi State under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
His leadership and credentials have been widely acknowledged by stakeholders and development forums as suitable for continued governance of Dekina Local Government
It is quite noble letting us know that this collective decision reflects the stakeholders’ confidence in the chairman’s visionary leadership, proven track record of performance, and proactive commitment to grassroots development in Dekina L.G.C., since assumption of office.
Under his stewardship, the local government has continued to witness remarkable strides in infrastructure development, youth engagement, women empowerment, engagement of widows, people living with disabilities, improved healthcare delivery, market women’s, farmers, security of life and prosperities, and overall governance.
The unanimous endorsement signals a shared belief and common interest amongst stakeholders that continuity in leadership will further consolidate the gains achieved during Hon John Urah first year in office and propelling Dekina to greater heights.
The stakeholders, who took turns to talk, affirmed that their decision was informed by Hon John Urah Ikani inclusive leadership style, his dedication to party principles, and his responsiveness to the needs of the people.
They pledged their full support to ensure his successful tenure and zero-distraction as Executive Chairman of Dekina Local Government Council, till 2028.
